Meet . . . Pat & Bill Schmidt, Innkeepers and Owners since 1991, and . . .

Fulton's Landing sits on two acres, high on a bluff, overlooking the majestic Mississippi River and the historic Rock Island Arsenal. Located one mile east of downtown Davenport, this impressive structure is a large side gable, Greek revival stone residence in a vernacular Italianate style. Built in 1871 of native field stone quarried from the river banks, it was extensively remodeled in the early 1900's and features ornate oak and butternut woodwork, Corinthian Columns, massive leaded and stained glass windows, original gas converted light fixtures and a second story balcony overlooking the river. a large wrap-around porch on the first floor features sixteen columns and plenty of wicker chairs for guests to recline, relax and enjoy the river. Guest room have queen size antique walnut beds and floral wallcoverings. All rooms have a private bath, two en suite, three just across the hallway, with bathrobes provided. Guests are always invited to browse and enjoy the beauty of the home, to sit anywhere and encouraged to make themselves "at home".

In the Iowa tradition, a full breakfast is served, including juice, fruit, coffee, tea and a hot entree'. Apple-cinnamon French toast, Dutch-Babies or an egg, cheese and sausage casserole are samples of some favorite morning surprises! Coffee is provided in the hallway about 6:30 AM for early-risers.

Downtown Davenport attractions and restaurants are only five minutes away; the historic East Village of Davenport is an easy walk away, along the Mississippi bike and walk path. During the winter months, guests use our binoculars and an old ship's telescope to observe bald eagles and antiquing is good anytime. The summer months provide lots of music festivals along the river, boat rides, arts and craft shows, golf tournaments, the Beiderbeke jazz festival and race in July and the museum of art displays. The new John Deere Commons, the John Deere International Headquarters and the historic Rock Island Arsenal are unique to the Quad-Cities and must be seen and enjoyed while visiting. Many public golf courses are close by and the Quad-City Bandits baseball stadium as well.
