Meet . . . Don & Barbara Kimes, host since 1996, and . . .

If you are interested in a country bed and breakfast, friendly host, and looking forward to unwinding and enjoying the beautiful countryside, then this is the place for you. Windstone House is a large two-story home with a spacious wrap-around porch and balcony, that just invites some good old fashion porchin'.

In good weather, breakfast is served on the balcony, overlooking the rolling Ozark Hills. You may even spot a deer or turkey. When the days cool down, you will be served in our beautiful dining room by the fire.

Upstairs, guests may choose from 3 rooms, "The Broken Branch", "The Crow's Nest", and "Lover's Knot". Each room is named for a quilt pattern taken from the 1931 Kansas City Star. These patterns were found in old scrapbook that Barbara's mother had collected as a young bride. The rooms have been tastefully furnished with antiques and each room opens onto the balcony.

As guests you are welcome to use each of the 3 common areas, the library, the parlor and an upstairs sitting room. When you retire for the night your bed will be turned down and a small gift will be left on your pillow.

Satisfy your appetite . . . Breakfast is a treat at Windstone House. Served on fine china and sparkling crystal, you will be pampered to your hearts content. Barbara has always had a love for gourmet cooking and has learned many of her secrets from accomplished chefs all over America. She specialized in sweet rolls dripping with cinnamon and butter, omelets, fluffy Ozark biscuits & gravy, and Blueberry French Toast.
