"Comfort and Charm in Victorian Splendor" Banberry House is situated next to Bannerman Park in the heart of old St. John's. This Second Empire Victorian style home was built in 1892, and retains its original wood trim and plaster moldings, hardwood floors, high ceilings, and stained glass windows.

The large breakfast and sitting rooms feature a bay window, ornate stained glass, and fireplace. Antique furnishings provide a comfortable, yet elegant, ambiance in which to relax with the daily newspaper at "tea" time.

Our guests enjoy a gourmet breakfast each morning, served with fresh fruit and delicious steaming coffee, herbal teas, and house specialties such as blueberry pancakes and baked apple-cinnamon French toast.

On those sunny and warm summer evenings the large garden behind the house is an excellent place to stop, relax, and smell the flowers.

The spacious guest rooms provide visitors with a cozy and comfortable place to retire. All guest rooms are tastefully decorated and furnished, and have en-suite bathrooms and a fireplace with an ornate mantle. High quality queen size beds (or two twin beds) provide a place for a good night's rest.

Banberry House is centrally located, ideal for the business or personal traveller. Many meeting places, tourist attractions, restaurants, museums and art galleries, boutiques, and the night life of George Street and Water Street are all within easy walking distance. Memorial University is only a 20 minute walk away.

Our third floor guest room offers a romantic setting, with a queen size bed, wicker love seat, fireplace, and view of Signal Hill and the Atlantic Ocean. The four piece bathroom has an old fashioned claw foot tub, just large enough for a romantic couple.
