Guest
rooms are large and professionally decorated to reflect the best of
the Victorian era. The Mapleton Room, the original prayer room,
has a view over English style gardens with a Weeping Willow gently breezing
by the window. The room has been updated with a queen bed. The Peel
Room has a double bed and is adjoined to a sitting room with pullout
couch and organ. It would be ideal for a family situation with sliding
doors for privacy. Deep window seats give a view over Mennonite farmland.
The The
large dining room has two-way fireplace and three deep windows seats.
A separate library has satellite television and VCR for relaxing. A
quiet walk back leads to a spring fed pond with fish and swimming facilities.
Natural plants and wildlife abound. A little further along the path
leads to a hard wood, managed forest with A-frame cottage, maple syrup
operation and apiary. In winter there is a groomed trail for cross-country
skiing right outside the back door. Deer, rabbit and a very large variety
of birds There are several cozy seating areas outside for relaxing and even a balcony area outside the double bedrooms for private sitting and reading. We are close to three major cities of culture and education. Local theatre houses are all with one hour drive. April begins with Elmira Maple Syrup Festival. June is in Elora. In August here is Fergus Highland Games. In September there is Elora Studio and Craft Tours. October brings the Kitchener-Waterloo Oktoberfest. The breakfast is entirely homemade fare with a menu selection available. Home cider, bread, muffins, jam and local additive free bacon and eggs are the highlights. A picnic lunch for eating by the lake could be made with prior arrangements, as well as special diets. DISTINCTIVE FEATURES
