It is our feeling that a bed and breakfast inn should be as much like home as possible, so the atmosphere at CasaCamelinas is intentionally informal. We have a small number of guests, from a variety of cultures, lifestyles and professions, with whom you can become acquainted if you choose. Accommodations are uniquely decorated with local Michoacan arts and crafts.

CasaCamelinas is the perfect base from which to explore the riches of this picturesque, Spanish colonial region. If you are new to Mexico, you will have all the fun of seeing the city and its surrounding areas and experiencing the many aspects of an ancient culture for the first time. Of particular interest to visitors are the seasonal festivals. In the Spring, Morelia has wonderful Easter celebrations; in the fall, nearby Patzcuaro has the "Day of the Dead" commemoration; and at Christmas, Morelia and all the surrounding towns have joyous "Navidad" festivities.

Our daily rates are $65 to $85 US. Each room has a private bath. In addition, there is also a one-bedroom self-contained apartment on the grounds. Your day begins with a generous continental breakfast, served family style between 9:00 and 10:30 a.m. It consists of fresh juice, fruits in season, assorted cereals, local, fresh-baked "pan dulces," tea and coffee.

If you wish to take a course in business Spanish, improve your conversational Spanish, or master the intricacies of a particular point of grammar, language classes taught by native-born Spanish teachers can be taken in our on-premises classroom.

Our weekly rates are $450 US per person, plus tax. This rate includes a private room with bath for 6 nights, 7 days, breakfast each morning, and 2 hours daily of intensive Spanish Monday to Friday. Weekends are free to explore your surroundings and enjoy your vacation. Extra hours of Spanish can be added for $12 per hour.
