ORANGE FRENCH TOAST

Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup orange juice
  • 1 teaspoon grated orange peel
  • 4 eggs
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cardamom
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 8 slices day old French bread

Directions

    In bowl combine orange juice, peel, eggs and cardamom and mix well. Place butter in jelly roll pan (cookie sheet with sides)and place in oven to melt. Dip both sides of bread in egg mixture and place in single layer in pan. Bake 400 degrees for 12 minutes, turning once. Sift powdered sugar over one side of each slice and serve.
