Combine all ingredients Knead by hand or in standing mixer with dough hook for 10 minutes Cover and let rise to double Punch down Divide into 6 even pieces, to make 2 challah Roll into long ropes Braid 3 strands together, pinch ends together and tuck under each end Cover again and let rise to double Optional: refrigerate overnight To Bake: brush egg onto loaves with a pastry brush Place on double baking pan in oven Bake at 375? degrees for 35-40 minutes
