ocated in the mountain community of Flagstaff, the Birch Tree Inn, built in 1917, offers the weary traveler a relaxing and quiescent respite. Once a fraternity house, the partnership of Rodger, Donna, Sandy and Ed have restored this two-story Country-Victorian style house to a place which reflectsthe warm and friendly nature of its innkeepers.

The Southwest Room, once the master bedroom, as well as the common rooms, are collaborations by these talented artists. The Pella Room, reminiscent of Tulip Time, a spring festival celebrating Sandy's heritage in Pella, Iowa, is brightly decorated with a handmade tulip quilt, Dutch Lace curtains, and many hand-painted accessories from Pella. The Wicker Room, decorated in white wicker furniture with navy accents, is a romantic and lovely room. The Wagner-Znetko Room will rekindle memories of Grandma's attic through it use of soft beige, accented with antique and heirloom furnishings. Carol's Room is decorated in hunter green and beige which accents the shaker pine furnishings. The Southwest Room is the perfect setting for that special celebration. Rise early to watch the spectacular changing light of sunrise, or just enjoy the serenity of the room's soft, pastel, southwest colors. The common area contains a warm and homey collection of heirloom and country style pieces.

Before beginning the day's activities, which may include a trip to the Grand Canyon, or the equally breathtaking Oak Creek Canyon/Sedona area, enjoy a complimentary Full Breakfast featuring Sandy and Donna's culinary delights, created from their extensive library of cookbooks. Special dietary needs are readily accommodated with advance notice. Breakfast is served on gleaming silver and china in the sparkling dining room. Enjoy the delightful and stimulating conversation of the innkeepers and other guests while lingering over that last cup of coffee or tea. In the late afternoon, tea and snacks are served with quiet conversation; take a relaxing stroll in the quaint neighborhood, enjoying the peace and tranquility mingled with the unmistakable smell of pine. Enjoy a friendly game of billiards or chess in the game room or just relax by the fire in the comfortable living room.
