Napa, California

he lush lawns and gardens set the tone as you approach the Beazley House, Napa's first bed and breakfast inn. Opened in 1981 by Jim and Carol Beazley, this 1902 landmark mansion maintains its turn of the century charm.

The Beazleys have created a place where each guest is hosted as a special friend of the family. You'll find your needs have been anticipated, not just met. Should you wish, your dining reservations will be booked for you and you'll get personalized guidance to the local wineries and attractions. The innkeepers will happily make reservations for special winery tours, hot air ballooning, gliding, cycling and Calistoga's famous mud baths. If you've come to escape the world and just relax, you'll be left to the peace you seek. You begin to understand why the inn's slogan is "Now you have friends in Napa."

A reproduction of the mansion's original, the Carriage House is nestled among gardens and manicured lawns. Here each of the five spacious rooms reflects the "country" side of the inn. They all have fireplaces and their own, private two person spas. As the inn is primarily a retreat for lovers, you'll find no televisions here. Phones are available, but only by request. The gardens are a haven of sunlit flowers and tranquility. A splashing fountain is surrounded by blossoms and a meandering path. A romantic swing hangs from the huge, 150 year old oak.

The inn is located in a neighborhood of 125 year old Victorians. Within a short stroll is old town Napa with its restored shopping area and gourmet restaurants. Just a few blocks to the West is highway 29 which leads to over 200 wineries. Because the Beazley House is located in Napa, at the south end of the valley which bears its name, it is a perfect place from which to explore both this wine country and the vineyards of Sonoma County. No matter when you come, you'll find the Beazley House an inn for all seasons.
