The Stevenscroft
building, added in 1984, houses four spacious luxury rooms with fireplaces
and ocean views, each distinctly furnished with contemporary art, comfortable
furniture, antiques, custom woodwork and tile bathrooms. Most have an
outdoor balcony or porch.
The Carriage House
suite, opened in 1999, offers "luxurious seclusion". It features a large
living room with fireplace, refrigerator and microwave, a private balcony
overlooking the Innís gardens and old water tower, a bedroom with a
magnificent woven brass king-sized sleigh bed and stove/fireplace, and
a beautifully tiled bathroom with a skylight and double shower.
All rooms at Glendeven
have featherbeds, CD players, hairdryers and robes. A delicious breakfast
is delivered to the rooms in the morning, and proprietors Sharon and
Higgins host wine and hors díoeuvres each evening.
Glendeven also hosts
one of Mendocino's top art galleries, operated by a partnership of local
artists and featuring their contemporary ceramics, original paintings,
jewelry, sculpture and etchings.
Lovely gardens and
grounds contribute to Glendeven's aura of peacefulness, making it a
wonderful place to stay on your next get-away to the spectacular Mendocino
coast.
