of the Central Pacific Railroad, the property began as a summer hunting ground
often visited by Charles
Crocker and his cronies, Leland Stanford, Mark Hopkins and Collis Huntington,
the empire builders known to historians as California's Big Four.
President Ulysses S. Grant and the elite "nobs" of San Francisco were frequent
guests. In the late 1800's, the Crockers, 
founders
of Crocker Bank, built the existing main lodge and enjoyed the property for
many years as a family retreat.
The warm and inviting guest rooms and suites each offer a private entrance,
private bath, and gas fireplace. Guests can relax in front of the fireplace
in the lobby, enjoy the large, warm swimming pool, spend private time in the
secluded spa, wander the grounds to view deer and quail, and partake of the
exercise/massage room.
The Old Crocker Inn serves a delectable breakfast daily and gourmet dinners
on weekends in the majestic dining room or on the spacious deck encircling the
main lodge. Relish the breathtaking view of the Alexander Valley and listen
to the calls of wild birds while you dine. After dinner, join other guests on
the dance floor for a romantic dip & twirl.
