he Compassion Flower Inn is located in eclectic downtown Santa Cruz in the heart of the thriving retail, restaurant, and entertainment district, only a short walk to beaches, the wharf, and the boardwalk. Guests love the convenience of walking downtown or to the beach. The inn is a beautifully restored 1860's Gothic Revival Victorian with four romantic guestrooms. The friendly owners, Andrea Tischler and Maria Mallek, took three years to restore and decorate the home. Maria, an artist who beautifully transforms whatever she touches, has delicately painted each room.

All guests are treated to a visual fantasy of faux finishes, unique stencils, mosaic art, and beautiful period furnishings. Upstairs there are four intimate guestrooms: the intimate Lovers' Suite with its sunken tub, the Blue Room, the Passion Flower Room, and the Hemp Room with its relaxing hemp leaf dŽcor. Guests can relax in the sitting room or dining room, decorated to depict the Victorian era. The kitchen is finished with rich mahogany cabinets and granite countertops. Shoes are slipped off at the door so that guests may enjoy the peaceful ambiance of the home.

Guests enjoy relaxing on the garden patio and deck area and in the jacuzzi/spa. Massages are available by appointment. Maria and Andrea will further delight you each morning with their delicious, healthful breakfast menu freshly prepared from the finest organic ingredients, including freshly baked muffins and breads. The inn's full flavored coffee is organic and a fair trade coffee. Vegetarian, vegan, and special diets are gladly accommodated. Our breakfasts are included in our room rate.

A ten day cancellation notice is required for full refund, less a $20.00 handling fee. For a cancellation with less than ten days notice, the deposit will be retained as the cancellation fee. Reservations are secured with deposit of the amount of the first night's lodging. Two day minimum in two rooms for Saturdays, holidays, and special events. Special diets and vegan accommodated.
We cannot accommodate pets. Children under 12 must be supervised by parents at all times.
Smoking allowed in limited outside areas. (Marijuana is permitted w/doctor's note).
