Black Dog Inn Bed & Breakfast

uilt in 1910 the Black Dog Inn was one of the earliest homes built in the burgeoning village of Estes Park. It is snuggled in among towering pine and aspen on a rolling acre with an expansive view of Lumpy Ridge and the Estes Valley. A footpath, running in front of the Inn, leads to nearby Estes Park attractions (no need to take the car); fairgrounds, public pool, bowling alley, golf course and restaurants, all within walking distance.

The inn today consists of a sunny family room, a large country kitchen, a cozy dining room and a comfortable living room to relax, read or watch a movie in front of a crackling fire. Or share your days adventures with fellow guests. You won't linger long in bed with the delicious smells of breakfast wafting under your door; freshly brewed coffee, steaming hot tea, yummy breads and muffins, a promise of culinary delights to come.

Our Inn features four guest rooms, which are named for the mountain peaks around us. Each room has been tastefully decorated with family antiques, uniting the charm of yesteryear with the comforts of today. Our quiet, restful rooms will make your stay a special occasion.

SUNDANCE MOUNTAIN -- Imagine relaxing in front of a see-thru fireplace from your antique queen-size walnut bed or from the relaxing warmth of the whirlpool tub for two. Or enjoy a sitting area in front of a bay window and your own private library. Sundance Mountain has all this and more . . . private deck, private entry, refrigerator, total privacy. SNOWDRIFT PEAK -- Come relax and enjoy our new courtyard suite with antique queen size bed, private bath, with oversized marble shower and cozy sitting room. You can choose a good book from your private library, snuggle into the overstuffed couch or chair in front of a warming fire and just relax. This room accommodates 2 persons. $135/night, 2 night minimum stay

MUMMY MOUNTAIN -- Mummy Mountain: This exquisite room will stimulate the romantic in you. It has it all-fireplace, cozy living room, refrigerator, jetted jacuzzi tub for 2, marble shower, cathedral ceiling, loft bedroom with ornate iron queen-size bed, covered porch, private entry and parking, views. $165/night, 2 night minimum stay

MT. OLYMPUS -- Newly-remodeled sunny, east-facing room, view of Mt. Olympus, antique white iron queen-size bed, comfortable reading area, and private bath. $90/night, 2 night minimum stay

Innkeepers Norm and Dee have had experience hiking, skiing and snow shoeing in Rocky Mountain National Park, and are happy to share books, maps and back country knowledge with you. We also provide bicycle and outdoor equipment storage. We invite you to enjoy our home while experiencing the Rocky Mountains in all its seasons.
