The upstairs veranda is a secluded spot just to sit, read or relax over a cup of coffee. It provides an excellent view of Holy Cross Episcopal, Sanford's earliest church. You'll also want to browse in our gift and antique shop upstairs. You may choose to sit on our large deck overlooking the Victorian box garden full of flowers and vegetables. Of course, a soak in our therapeutic spa is a splendid way to start or finish your day. Whatever the occasion: vacation, honeymoon, anniversary, or just a get away weekend, you'll have a memorable experience at "The Higgins House." The Higgins House offers three guest rooms and "Cochran's Cottage." All guest rooms have private baths. The lovely Queen Anne room overlooks the Victorian box garden and the Wicker room is romantic with its bay window sitting area. The Victorian Country room has a warm cozy atmosphere with an antique brass bed, stenciled wooden floor and cedar ceiling. Cochran's Cottage, adjacent to the Higgins House, has two bedrooms, two baths, living room, complete kitchen and porch. The cottage is available daily, weekly or monthly. A bountiful continental breakfast featuring fresh seasonal fruit, juice, hot steaming coffee, cereal, fresh baked breads and homemade jams and jellies is served in the elegant dining room each morning.
