in its 21st year of continuous active lava flows and is surely a sight to behold.
Volcano Inn offers elegant upcountry accommodations comprised of exquisitely appointed rooms at either Volcano Inn or the Guest House at Pali Uli. Volcano Inn offers four uniquely designed accommodations all with private entrances and private full baths. The lobby features a fireplace, high speed internet access and serves as an art gallery with numerous original local artists' works. The expansive lanai is wonderful for afternoon reading or gathering with acquaintances.
The Guest House at Pali Uli located practically next door offers three additional rooms and a private cottage. Originally built in 1928 this 'Plantation Style' home has all the modern conveniences. All accommodations offer private full baths and private entrances. Treasured antique furnishings can be found throughout the entire household. The gem of the house is our library where you can spend endless hours perusing the priceless collection of books or choose a video from our extensive collection. In the evening we invite you to enjoy the peaceful surroundings with your favorite find in front of glowing embers from our lava rock fireplace. Oftentimes, due to the mist of Volcano, this extra warmth even in summer is most appreciated. Original works of art can be found throughout the house and several prized antiquities await your discovery.
Our goal is simple- to provide the best in accommodations and service to our customers at the most reasonable rates. Centrally located to Hilo's shopping and restaurants, Kapoho's tide pools and hot ponds, South Point's black and green sand beaches, and 13,000' Mauna Kea Observatories, 'Volcano Inn' is an excellent choice to stay while touring all of East Hawaii. Visit waterfalls and botanical gardens on the way to Waipio Valley. We are very close to ACTIVE LAVA FLOWS you can drive and walk right up to! We look forward to hearing from you. Aloha!
