The Dormitory Inn was built
in 1888. Its purpose was to provide living accommodations for teachers
who taught across the street at the Castana Consolidated Independent
School. In the early 1900's Normal Training classes were held in Castana.
The Dormitory was a temporary home to aspiring teachers. In the 1920's
- 1950's, first, second, and third grades The Dormitory Inn offers seven
clean and cozy bedrooms, each decorated in its own style, complete with
a full-sized bed. One room has two single beds for your comfort. Four
bathrooms are available. Antique claw-footed tubs invite The third floor is a large open space decorated to evoke warmth and grandeur. Meeting and conferences for approximately 50 people can be accommodated via the open stairway. The Dormitory Inn features a state licensed restaurant, Aggie Mae's. My grandmothers hold a special place in my life. The restaurant was named in their honor. There are two dining rooms on the first floor. Forty people can be seated comfortably in each room. Relax, explore "the hills", visit area attractions, savor the amenities. Regardless of which activites you prefer, The Dormitory Inn provides a convenient and relaxing lodging experience.
