This truly distinctive Queen Anne Victorian was built in 1907 by Mr. John James Shaw for his family. Mr. Shaw was the proprietor of the Hawkeye Lumber Company and as a builder he constructed a home worthy to stand the test of time. Today the gracious home still welcomes guests. Proprietors Michael and Ruthie White, a retired builder, and a homemaker, open their historic home to you.

A handsome three-story brick and sandstone residence, the J.J. Shaw House is accented throughout with original leaded glass and interesting bay windows. Architectural details reminiscent of the 1900's include the exterior and interior use of columns, decorative mouldings and French doors. A variety of living areas are available for guest use. Included is the bright Sun Room, the Parlor with fireplace, and the Sitting Room where the player piano awaits. Breakfasts and afternoon refreshments are enjoyed in either the Sun Room or the formal Dining Room. Our five guest bedrooms include full breakfast, afternoon refreshments, private baths, in-room phones and air conditioning. With advance notice we provide airport shuttle service.

Located in the quiet, yet convenient Northend, J.J. Shaw is within walking distance to fine restaurants and Hyde Park. Boise State University and The Pavilion are just minutes away.
