Flemish House of Chicago

lemish House of Chicago offers comfortably furnished studio and one-bedroom apartments in an 1890s greystone rowhouse. As our renovation progresses we are keeping the best of the old and updating kitchens and baths for modern-day living. We currently have available two studio apartments and a one-bedroom suite. The apartments are available for short-term stays (two-night minimum may apply) or as furnished corporate units (by the week or month). Parking is available at nearby public lots and garages.

We are located in downtown Chicago's Gold Coast neighborhood, minutes from North Michigan Avenue, Water Tower Place, the lakefront, and Oak Street Beach. This is the premier residential area on the city's North Side and within a short walk of many high-end stores, restaurants, night spots, and neighborhood conveniences. The building is steps from Lake Shore Drive and two blocks north of Oak Street.

Historical amenities will vary, but apartments feature some combination of wood-paneled rooms, fireplaces, inlaid wood floors, high ceilings, and decorative moldings. We have chosen an English Arts & Crafts motif for the decor, popular in the late-Victorian period from which the house dates. Beds include all-cotton linens, wool blankets, down comforters and both down and hypoallergenic pillows. All kitchens are totally new and self-contained with refrigerator, gas stove, sink, microwave oven, and complete set of dishes, glasses, pans, and utensils. Bathrooms have been updated with new fixtures and tile.

Your stay will include a self-serve continental breakfast placed in your apartment the night before. (Sorry, we do not offer a sit-down table-service breakfast). Coffee, tea, juice and milk are stocked in your refrigerator. Linens are changed every third day for our long-term guests. Rooms include a cordless phone with an answering machine, color TV, radio and alarm clock.
