In 1889 at the end of the Riverboat Era, Hiram Quante, a textile manufacturer, built his family a grand home overlooking the Ohio River. A century later the Riverboat has returned to Southern Illinois and after extensive renovation the home is once again one of the most impressive examples of late Victorian architecture in the area and offers guests a chance to experience the gentility of the turn of the century with all the conveniences of today.
