Millhurst Inn

illhurst was originally built as a flour mill. Due to unforseen events, it never ground a single sack of flour. This magnificent four story structure was built on the banks of the Fox River from the surrounding limestone bluffs. Once home to the Fox, Miami, and Pottawatomie Native American tribes, one can almost imagine seeing their canoes rounding the bend of the river and hear their battle cries from nearby Maramech Hill.

In the 1890's, Millhurst became a resort for the wealthy. With Prohibition came a "Speak Easy," and finally in 1979 a fire. Only the four stone walls were left standing as a testament of time.

Millhurst Inn has been completely restored to even greater grandeur. The main floor with it's large open concept, adorns a 40 foot atrium. Beautiful woodwork throughout is reminiscent of a bygone age. Gather by the bar and listen to the juke box. Play a game of billiards or just relax by the fire or on one of the four balconies overlooking the water. The third floor surrounding the atrium features four elegant rooms with oversized luxury bathrooms with ceramic Jacuzzi baths. A cozy library can also be found on this floor with a balcony overlooking the Fox River. The top floor features two spectacular rooms with original limestone walls adjoining oversized luxury Jacuzzi baths. All rooms have a wonderful water view from huge windows.
