Minutes from McCorrmick Place, within a walk of Lake Michigan, and sitting between the Museum of Science & Industry and the University of Chicago, Wooded Isle Suites is accessible to downtown Chicago and to the Hyde Park neighborhood bookstores & restaurants. Six 2 room and seven 3 room apartments, available by the night or longer, offer home-like space and full kitchens.

Wooded Isle Suites owners, Charlie Havens, Sara Pitcher, and other friends, include employees, a vendor, and neighbors. We enjoy opening up this city to our guests by providing a home base in a culturally diverse urban neighborhood. These vintage apartments give you space in which to relax. For those new to the city we are happy to orient you, so that you are more comfortable in finding your way around. The kitchen facilities allow preparation of some of your own meals and snacks. (We provide supplies for good coffee and herbal tea in each suite, but offer no food.)

We equip each kitchen with microwave, toaster, coffee maker, dishes, stove, and refrigerator. Each guest suite has at least one phone with answering machine and is furnished with cable T.V., living room furniture, and one or more queen size beds. All of the suites have private bathrooms. The building maintains a coin operated laundry facility. For guests staying longer than one night, housekeeping services are provided after every two nights of stay. Guests wash their own dishes. All suites are non-smoking.

A 50% advance payment is required for reservations. The advance payment is fully refunded if cancellation is made with more than 14 days notice. Reservations canceled with less than 14 days notice will be charged a cancellation fee of 15% of the reservation, prior to refunding the balance of the advance payment.

If you will be checking in other than 3-5:30 p.m. Monday-Friday, we meet you by appointment. Guests arriving via O'Hare Airport may reach us by the van-limo company servicing our neighborhood. A car rental agency is located three blocks from Wooded Isle Suites. McCorrmick Place and Downtown or The Loop are accessible via a Metro Commuter Train stop two blocks away or by an express bus which stops across the street from Wooded Isle Suites.

The one-bedroom apartment sleeps 1-4 people and rents for $152 per night. The studio apartment sleeps 1-2 people and rents for $124 per night. Rates are lower for stays longer than 6 nights and during our off-season. Rates are be higher during many conventions.
