Bed and Breakfast Inns of North American the heart of northern Indiana's "plain and simple" Amish country, the Victorian Guest House stands out like a polished gemstone. This gabled and turreted mansion, two blocks from Nappanee's historic town square, stands resplendent in its Victorian charm. This 1887 Queen Anne style masterpiece is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

The golden oak and etched-glass entryway leads through beveled-glass pocket doors into an expansive living room with polished hardwood floors and 11-foot ceilings. Graceful Victorian antiques are present here, and throughout the Guest House. A wide doorway opens to the dining room where period wallpaper softens rich wood paneling. The massive 11-foot dining room table, with a servant buzzer hidden on the underside, is an original piece. Stained glass windows made by Nappanee's renowned Lamb Brothers, line the dining room and the crosscut golden oak staircase that leads to the bedrooms upstairs.

THE COPPES SUITE -- Originally the master bedroom, the Coppes Suite is paneled in light oak. Its bath has a large stained glass window with a sinuous rose design set against a cobalt blue background, and a vintage bathtub. Sixty five gallons of water are required for a long, luxurious-soak with plenty of provided bubbles. Four poster queen bed. VIRGINA'S ROOM -- Spaciously accommodates a queen size decorative cherub bed that accents the Victorian rose and lace decor. Vintage fringed lamps and antique dressers complete the charm. Full private bath. VICTORIA'S ROOM -- Complete with its own balcony, the room bespeaks romance. Queen size antique bed with matching dresser compliment soft toned wallpaper and carpet. A full private bath with pedestal sink and pull chain toilet. CATHERINE'S ROOM -- Spend an evening with a good book in the perfect setting. The high antique headboard of the queen bed and the hardwood floors compliment the navy blue and rose covered walls. A pedestal sink and pull chain toilet accent the private bath. THE MAID'S CHAMBER -- A private retreat rewards those who venture to the third floor, the home's original quarters for the live-in maid. Queen size brass bed, with the private bath featuring a clawfoot vintage bathtub and pedestal sink. THE SEWING ROOM -- Mrs. Coppes' sewing room has its own balcony-watch the sun set and enjoy a cup of tea. Tall antique queen bed with adjacent private bath.

We tuck you in at night with a bedside tray laden with an assortment of gourmet chocolates, teas, coffees and sweets. Pleasant dreams.

Breakfast, in the dining room, is an elegant affair, served on china with crystal goblets and crisp cloth napkins.
