Historic Wamego, Kansas the home of The Eagle View Inn Bed &
Breakfast. The Eagle View Inn is located in the William Boyd building
which was built in 1885. The building was originally The Boyd Blacksmith
Shop and the upstairs of the building where The Eagle View Inn is located
was  once
a boarding house in early Wamego. The Friendly Cooker Restaurant is
located in the lower portion of the building. Wamego is a small Midwestern
town full of friendly people and interesting places to visit.
Guests will enjoy
sitting and relaxing in the parlor overlooking downtown Wamego and just
watching the people go by, or attending one of the many events at the
Columbian Theatre Museum and Art Center right across the street.
 Historic
sights within walking distance include the newly renovated Columbian
Theatre where you can see turn of the century murals from the 1893
Chicago Worlds Fair. Also within walking distance is the Old Dutch
Mill and Museum Complex in Wamego's City Park. Here you can relax
at the pond, feed the ducks, and look at the beautiful flowers. A
swimming pool, tennis and basketball courts are also in the park.
Other interesting historical sights in Wamego are the Ditto-Leach
House and the birthplace of Walter P. Chrysler. Within a short drive
are the historic Louis Viex Elm Tree, Oregon Trail Park, and Beecher
Bible Church.
Satisfy your appetite
in the morning by going downstairs and eating some old fashioned down
home cookin' at The Friendly Cooker Restaurant, or get it to go and
eat upstairs. Feel free to eat breakfast when you like and of course
The Eagle View Inn picks up the tab.
