Experience Turn of the Century Elegance. The Judge Porter House is located
in the National Historic Landmark District of Natchitoches, Louisiana,
and is surrounded by gracious live oaks and fine landscaped gardens.
Built in 1912 by Thomas Fitzgerald Porter,this house is on the National
Register of Historic Places, and is beautifully appointed with fine
Louisiana and American Antiques.
Elegant guest bedrooms
are available, each with their own spacious bath, phone, cable TV and
VCR. Many other amenities are offered, such as terry cloth robes, complimentary
wine and an assortment of beverages, along with a coffee/tea maker in
each suite, and plenty of bedside chocolates.
Each morning awaken
to a sumptuous, candlelight, multi-course breakfast in the formal setting
of the dining room. The table is set with fine china and crystal stemware,
below the warm glow of a French-cut crystal chandelier.
We are within walking
distance of many fine shops, antiques malls, museums, and fine restaurants,
and a short drive to the beautiful plantations along the Cane River,
many of which are open for tours. Natchitoches is the oldest city in
the Louisiana Purchase and is surrounded by the magnificent Kisatchie
National Forest, which offers a myriad of biking and hiking trails.
