in the beautiful Uptown area of New Orleans. Originally part of the
Bouligny Plantation, Southern Comfort has been restored to reflect the
vintage charm of old New Orleans. Spacious,  comfortable
and filled with period pieces, your room will make you feel as through
you've stepped back in time without sacrificing the modern amenities.
Located just two Blocks off of St. Charles Ave. in a neighborhood filled
with lush gardens and wide promenades, you can explore the neighborhood,
wander aimlessly down St. Charles Ave. and enjoy the beauty of the antebellum
mansions tucked away between rows of 200 year old oaks or take a short
streetcar ride "uptown' to the Audubon Zoo, the universities and
the Riverbend area or head "downtown" to the Garden District,
Central Business District, Warehouse District, Riverwalk, Superdome,
Convention Center and the French Quarter.
This 100 year old
raised center hall cottage will beckon you with its large front verandah
surrounded by white railings and large columns, shuttered ceiling to
floor windows and porch swing. Large windows throughout the house flood
the interior with sunlight and a feeling of openness to the surrounding
foliage. Each room has been restored with loving care and attention
to architectural details such as hardwood floors made of pine and oak
inlaid with mahogany, 12 foot cove ceiling, medallions, and decorative
fireplaces.
If you're new to
the city, your host, Cindee Quick, a New Orleans native, will be happy
to point you in the direction of all the local sightseeing attractions,
and give you a host of dining suggestions, from delightful little hidden
treasures to the world-famous culinary palaces the city is famous for.
