Bed and Breakfast Inns of North America he 1886 House is an authentic New England country farmhouse situated on 5 acres at the top of a high ridgeline in historic Chesterfield, just off scenic Route 9 & 143, "The General Lafayette Trail". Chesterfield is located in the foothills of the Berkshire's in the "Pioneer Valley" where you can enjoy the quiet of the country or visit many of the area's attractions.

Our B&B is small and intimate; therefore we can provide individualized attention to your needs. We serve a hearty breakfast each morning and we will accommodate known dietary requirements. Breakfast is generally served between 8:30 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. The first floor Rose Room has an antique white iron double bed & private bath and overlooks a nice quiet meadow. On the second floor the Chelsea Room is a large guestroom overlooking the front lawn and magnificent old trees. It is furnished with a queen-sized bed, private bath and has satellite TV and a VCR. There is another guestroom, the Meadow Room, on this floor, with an old antique wooden double bed. The bathroom is shared and accessible only through the Chelsea Room and therefore is only suitable for a family traveling together.

Guests are invited to relax in our entertainment room where satellite TV, DVD, CD player and VCR are available. We also have an extensive collection of books available to our guests for browsing.

In the evening, you can relax with dinner in a fine Country Inn or eat in one of the many excellent restaurants in Northampton, the home of Smith College. Or chose to enjoy a romantic candlelight dinner in Chandler's restaurant on the grounds of the famous Yankee Candle Co. just south of Historic Deerfield. You can also try your hand at creating your own candles and there are many interesting shops here.

If you are looking to get out and about, there are plenty of locations for antiquing, hiking, skiing, fishing, snowmobiling, tennis and golf, as well as, many other great recreational spots. If you are feeling really ambitious you can hike the highest Mountain in Massachusetts - Mount Greylock.

Here in Chesterfield and the Pioneer Valley you will enjoy our lovely summers and our very colorful Fall Foliage season. The Pioneer Valley offers a unique mix of the arts, attractions, fine dining and historic landmarks. It is home to the Springfield Symphony Orchestra, the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame, the newly opened Dr. Suess National Memorial, William Cullen Bryant Homestead, Yankee Candle Co., Historic Deerfield...just to name a few.

Deposits- 50% deposit required to confirm reservation.
Cancellations- For refund on cancellations, we require 12 days notice. If less than 12 days notice is given deposits are refundable only if we rebook the rooms for the nights reserved. Same day cancellations and "no shows" will be charged the full amount of the room rate.
Policies- Late arrivals can be accommodated. We ask that all guests call and reconfirm their approximate arrival time the day before their reservation. We are a nonsmoking inn.
