estled back from the road and shaded
by two ancient maple trees, the Captain Tom Lawrence House is
an intimate inn for those who appreciate fine accommodations and warm
hospitality in a beautiful setting. Located within walking distance
of the main street of the historic village of Falmouth,
this beautifully restored 1861 whaling captain's residence, offers six
softly colored corner guest rooms with private baths and firm beds (king,
queen and twin size) several beds with lace canopies.
Breakfast is thoughtfully planned and
prepared by your hosts. You'll enjoy fresh fruit and a variety of creative
entrees such as whole wheat Belgium waffles served with seasonal fruit
syrups - the inn's specialty. Crepes, omelets or breakfast stratas,
brimming with fruit or vegetables, are only some of the fine recipes
that you will enjoy before a day exploring Cape Cod and the Islands.
Coffee cakes, scones, and muffins - baked fresh daily - complement the
sit-down breakfast.
Each
of our six beautifully decorated guestrooms, each named for the seafaring
adventures of Captain Lawrence, combines the elegance and grace of this
19th Century home with the comfort and conveniences of today. The guestrooms
have a private bath, cable television, ceiling fan, and a small refrigerator
for your convenience. Our fully furnished guest apartment to the rear
of the inn, with its private entrance, eat-in kitchen, cable television,
and central air conditioning, provides the privacy and spaciousness
that a small family needs
to spread out and enjoy a family vacation on the Cape. Down comforters
are a favorite in winter. Antiques complement the comfortable fireplaced
living room.
The
inn is close to downtown, the beach, a bikeway, island ferries and the
bus station. Explore the entirety of Cape Cod, Martha's Vineyard and
historic Plymouth by day trips. We gladly assist our guests with sightseeing
and dining plans. We invite you to make our inn your home away from
home, and experience the warmth and hospitality of this historic seaside
village. Whatever the occasion - honeymoon, anniversary, or a weekend
getaway - the Captain Tom Lawrence House is for you.
