The
magnificent grounds encompass over 27 acres. Many of
the trees and flowers have been flourishing for over
a hundred years. Today, in the Tudor-style manor house,
you will find the common baronial rooms, each carefully
restored to its original detail and charm. The Lobby,
with its wood-burning fireplace is cozy and informal.
The Tearoom, with a view onto the gardens and a huge
fireplace, is perfect for hosting small gatherings.
Our
1911 Carriage House has just been renovated! All 6 rooms
feature fireplace, jet tub, and kitchenette.
The
Dining Room, originally a sitting room, is arranged
around two fireplaces. Its unconventional layout offers
an intimate dining experience. On the other side of
the Dining room is the Music room (and bar), recently
renovated to include hardwood and marble inlaid floors.
Upstairs
you will find fifteen guestrooms, each one different,
and all furnished with beautiful antiques, some with
fireplaces and Jacuzzi tubs.
Our
lovely pool, refurbished in 1998, is secluded at the
base of the terraced lawns, looking up at the mansion.
At forty feet in length, it is one of the largest pools
in the area. We also offer two tennis courts as well
as ample space for walks, picnics, volleyball, badminton,
horseshoes or just relaxing with a book by an ancient
lilac bush.
The
formal, high-ceilinged dining room wraps graciously
around two hand-carved wood-burning fireplaces. Our
chef trained at the Culinary Institute of America and
more recently at the Cordon Bleu in Paris. The food
is served on premier Villeroy and Boch china against
a backdrop of white linen tablecloths. We use only the
finest and freshest ingredients.
We
do wonderful customized weddings, events and conferences.
