he Blue Max Inn, circa 1854, is a beautifully restored elegant bed and breakfast located in the heart of historic Chesapeake City, Maryland. This quaint 19th century village is located along the shores of the famous C&D Canal. Renowned author, Jack Hunter, who wrote the best selling novel, "The Blue Max", once occupied the Inn. Known affectionately as "the house with generous porches", the inn offers elegant guest rooms, working fireplaces, a beautiful dining room and a relaxing parlor with a grand piano. Each guest room is custom designed to pamper with romantically appointed, extravagant, king or queen beds, luxurious linens and upscale amenities. Several of our rooms open onto second floor verandahs.

Your day at the Blue Max Inn begins with a hearty gourmet breakfast. You can dine in the grand fireside dining room or the delightful solarium, which overlooks a picturesque fish pond, informal gardens and offers individual tables. Tea is served every afternoon between 4 and 6 pm. The Blue Max Inn provides a cozy atmosphere of total comfort for guests who want to enjoy a restful getaway. Many activities are available including unique shopping, fabulous dining, romantic carriage rides, water tours on the canal, walking and bicycle trails, Chesapeake horse country tours, and the Canal Museum. There is a public anchorage within easy walking distance and golfing is available nearby.
