Built by the family of Robert Morris, the financier of the Revoluntionary War, Chanceford Hall is a gracious two hundred thirty-year-old grand lady. The Greek Revival manor house, with more than 6,000 square feet of finished space, combines both Georgian and Federal original details to create many sumptuous rooms. Elaborate crown moldings, chair rails, fireplace mantles, paneled doors with original hardware and wide plank wood flooring are a few of the details that decorate the ten foot high ceiling rooms. Proportions are grand but definitely American in scale.

Individually place on the National Register of Historic Places by the United Stats Department of Interior, Chanceford Hall has been updated with modern amenities without compromising the original architectural detail. The house is centrally heated and air conditioned. There are ten fireplaces and a lap pool. Situated on over an acre of mature landscaping in the picturesque twon of Snow Hill, Chanceford Hall stands majestically in its own park.

The gardens of Chanceford Hall are magical in their own right. A Maryland Champion tree, the third oldes black walnut tree in the state; mature weeping cherry trees, magnolias, boxwood and holly create a lush backdrop to historic Chanceford Hall.

Each bedroom has a private, modern bath. A first floor bedroom is available and two bedrooms on the second floor can be opened to provide a two-bderoom suite. Each bedroom is large and filled with antiques including a queen size four poster bed. A gourmet breakfast is served. Upon arrival, refreshments are served to help you relax into the world of Chanceford Hall.

Chanceford Hall is your base from which you can explore and enjoy the Eastern Shore: Assateague, Chincoteague, Smith and Tangier Islands, and Crisfield, the crab capitol of the United States. You can enjoy golf courses, bicycling, or go canoeing and kayaking on the scenic Pocomoke River.

Summer is not the only season to enjoy the Eastern Shore. Fall is alive with colorful foilage, bicycling, hunting and fall festivals. The annual Snow Hill Holiday Dinner Tour opens up to the public many of the historic houses. Winter is the perfect time to get away and enjoy a book from the extensive library next to a crackling fire. Spring brings a pretty array of blossoming trees common to the area - dogwood, cherry and magnolias - to help you shrug off winter.
