Hill House Bed & Breakfast

ill House was constructed circa 1870 and is a three story Victorian town house embellished with Eastlake detailing on the street façade. It was renovated in 1996 by your hosts, Taylor and Damian Branson, who offer four beautiful guestrooms with private baths. Each of the rooms is decorated in a style that reflects the particular interests of the owners. All rooms are appointed with original drawings, paintings and crafts. Throughout Hill House guests will find interesting items which have been handed down to succeeding generations over the many years of Maryland's history.

Hill House is located in the Historic District of Frederick, within walking distance of the many antique shops, fine restaurants and many other points of interest within and outside of town, too numerous to mention.

Guestrooms include....

The Victorian Room is furnished in antiques and reproductions including a queen-size, canopied bed. Of particular interest are the childhood chair of Damian's mother and Damian's Victorian china doll.

The Chesapeake Room is colorfully decorated in a floral chintz and tiger maple furniture, some of it antique, with a charming antique shaving mirror on the chest. The original oil and watercolor paintings depict scenes of the Chesapeake Bay region and are by Maryland artists. This room opens onto a furnished second floor gallery overlooking the garden.

The Mexican Room is a twin bed accommodation, imparting much of the color and culture of Mexico, where the Bransons have traveled frequently. It will capture your interest with beautiful artwork, hand-painted furniture and a uniquely appointed bath. This room opens also onto the second floor gallery.

You will find the Steeple Suite on the third floor overlooking the well-known Spires of Frederick. This is furnished in the colonial-style with a fully equipped kitchen, bath, sitting room and a bedroom with a queen-size canopied bed.
