Our award winning inn is located on Maryland's Eastern Shore in the historic village of Snow Hill, where you can be as active or relaxed as you choose. The area is rich in history and natural beauty, with antiquing, canoeing, boating, beaches, birding at wildlife preserves, biking, swimming, fishing and golf virtually at your door. The village of Snow Hill, incorporated in 1686, is a picturebook of architectural treasures. A walking tour on old brick sidewalks takes you down picturesque streets past more than 100 architecturally or historically interesting buildings. Assateague National Seashore, Chincoteague, Ocean City, and Chrisfield (with boats to Smith & Tangier islands), are only about 30 minutes away. Canoes or Kayaks can be rented through the Inn to take you exploring on our scenic river, or nearby bays and ocean. Or, you can take a guided wildlife cruise on "The Otter," the Inn's pontoon boat. The Chesapeake Bay is only a short distance from the Inn - perfect for sailing or Kayaking. Bikes are available at no charge for cruising the village, or stroll downtown to browse in the scores of antique boutiques. Nassawango Country Club, one of many courses in the area, will welcome you for golf or swimming. We will be happy to assist you with any of your plans.

The River House Inn has four guest buildings (9 rooms, including 4 suites) in a lovely rambling setting on over two acres of rolling lawn that lead down to the river. Lilac Suite - Sitting room, queen bedroom, full kitchen, full bath. Fireplace, TV, VCR, central air & heat. Private and pleasant in an 1830's antique cottage. Dover Suite- two bedrooms, TV, VCR, fridge, microwave, fireplace, screened porch, central air and heat. Cute and comfortable second floor.

Ivy Cottage- A large, comfortable cottage (previously the Owner's Quarters) including Sitting room with fireplace, large spa tub, TV, VCR, dining area, sleeping area and half bath. Full kitchen. Second floor queen bedroom with TV, full bath with soaking tub.

River Cottage- A spacious, two room carriage barn cottage with private porch and river views. Sitting room has fireplace, TV, VCR, mw, fridge and picture window with river views. Airy Bedroom with King bed and TV. Full bath has two-person whirlpool. Screened porch has pleasant river views.

Hideaways- Each large room features an open, private 28-foot long porch with spectacular river views. The rooms themselves are finely furnished with Queen canopy beds, two person whirlpools with river views, sitting areas, entertainment areas with TV, VCR microwave, bar sinks and fridge.

The River House provides modern amenities along with the charm of fireplaces in spacious rooms, plus plenty of porches to relax on. All rooms have air conditioning, queen or king sized beds and private baths. A full breakfast is included in the price of your room at the River House Inn and complimentary beverages are served. You may tie your boat up at our waterfront at no charge while you are our guest.
