he Hawthorn Bed and Breakfast Inn enjoys the best location from which to explore the village of Camden and the mid-coast region of Maine. The Inn offers elegant, spacious accommodations in a remarkable setting, just steps from the Harbor, the Village and the mountains that meet the sea. Gracious, warm, inviting.
The Main House has six rooms and the adjacent Carriage House four, all with private baths; some with harbor views, private decks, fireplaces, oversized double Jacuzzis, TVs, and VCR/DVDs. The Hawthorn's full gourmet breakfast is a culinary event, served al fresco in the spring, summer and fall and by fireside in winter. The Hawthorn specializes in intimate weddings and is the perfect spot for a wedding and reception.
Stroll a short two blocks from the Hawthorn, and you are on Elm and Bay View Streets enjoying Camden's unique shops, galleries, and restaurants. Walk across the Inn's backyard, and you are at the docks, where classic Schooners and Windjammers set sail for 2 to 4 hour sails or weeklong cruises on Penobscot Bay, the best cruising waters in the United States.
Walk out the front door and head toward a pleasant and invigorating hike up Mt. Battie, where Edna St. Vincent Millay wrote her famous poem "Renascence." Your reward for reaching the summits of the Camden Hills are the beautiful panoramic views of Camden, Penobscot Bay, and several of the 200 islands located in the Bay.
