ick off your shoes and relax in "country comfort" at Hatfield
Bed and Breakfast. Our 107 year old home is located on a quiet residential
side street, and is within walking distance to just about everything in
town, including the town pier and harbour. We The Inn is named after our last home in a small rural town
outside of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Our guest rooms, living room and
dining room reflect our preference for "country comfort". We invite you to join us for a spell, to chat on the front porch in
the afternoon with some tea and homemade cookies; to site in the evening
in the living room by the fire to reflect on whatever it is you did and
saw on our beautiful island. If you'd like, we'll help you plan your next
day's activities at the dining room table, or after a busy day, just relax
for a while on our third floor sun/moon deck. It is certainly no secret that on Mt. Desert Island there
is much to see, do and enjoy. Home to Acadia National park, the island
boasts scenic vistas unequaled on the East Coast, as well as all levels
of hiking, biking and swimming, whale watching, sailing, and uncounted
quiet places for dreaming or quiet contemplation: Bar Harbor and the other
small towns on the island offer a variety of great restaurants, shops
and galleries. With all there is to do, you'll of course need a hearty
country breakfast to start your day. Each morning you'll awaken to the
smell of fresh perked coffee, and reach the dining room to find a different
special hot entree, in addition to fresh fruit, juice, fresh home baked
muffins and bread, your choice of assorted hot and cold cereals, and a
choice of herbal or regular teas. No need for lunch after this meal! Each of our six guest rooms has a name as individual as
it is decorated. All have antique queen size beds and private bathrooms.
Hatfield is open year round so we invite you to enjoy the change of colors during a crisp autumn afternoon, or come for a winter holiday. Even in the winter there's plenty to do. You will find superb cross-country skiing, snow-shoeing, hiking or snowmobiling on the miles of carriage paths throughout the park; ice skating or ice fishing on the many frozen ponds and lakes, and of course, just relaxing in front of a cozy fire.
