House is a gracious 1790 Georgian style home located in the heart
of Bath's Historic District, one block from the expansive Kennebec River.
Purchased by Benjamin F. Packard in the mid-19th century, this home
remained in his family for five generations. Benjamin E. Packard, an
illustrious shipwright, was a partner in one of the most successful
shipbuilding companies in the world. The celebrated downeaster, Benjamin
F. Packard built here in Bath in 1883, has its captain's quarters
on permanent display at Mystic Seaport in Connecticut.
Packard House features period furnishings in the guest rooms including
the parlor and dining room. We invite you here to discover Maine's greatest
adventure, our seafaring heritage, throughout Bath -- the City of Ships.
Relive the continuing history of shipbuilding along the banks of the
Kennebec River.
