join us in "Small Town America" for a quiet get-a-way, a step back in
time, or a stopping point in the center of an historic area. Whatever
your reason for staying, you will find it a peaceful break in your traveling
schedule.
Located in Hamilton,
Missouri, boyhood home of J.C. Penney, this stately 1904
home boasts a beautiful oak staircase, lovely antiques and woodwork
throughout, and three bright, spacious guest rooms. You can hide away
or mingle and visit downstairs in our lovely Parlour.
The Estate
Room has a luxurious queen size cannonball bed and a twin
bed. The large adjoining bathroom offers an antique clawfoot tub if
you're in the mood for a bubble bath or a modern corner shower.
The Garden
Room has a lovely "grandmother's cottage" theme with inlaid
wood floor and queen size brass bed.
The Cottage
Room has a more rustic flavor with a huge four poster bed
and dark hardwood floor. These two rooms share a bathroom down the
hall.
In
the morning enjoy a delicious full breakfast that will consist of such
favorites as homemade cinnamon or orange rolls, stuffed blueberry french
toast, Spanish omelet, and fresh fruit.
While your're in
the area, visit the J.C. Penney Museum as well as his boyhood home.
Enjoy browsing through antique shops in town and have lunch at the Harper
House Tea Room across the street. Within a short drive are Far West,
Haun's Mill, Adam-ondi-Ahman, and Liberty Jail. Also, visit Jamesport,
the largest Amish community outside of Pennsylvania. Enjoy its bakeries
and its many fine antique and craft shops.
We look forward
to meeting you.
