Beaufort House Victorian Bed & Breakfast Inn

irca 1894, this historic home is located in Asheville, North Carolina -- a premier Honeymoon Getaway destination! We are situated on two acres of beautifully landscaped grounds and gardens with garden waterfalls, tea gardens and lots of privacy. This pink "painted lady" is absolutely beautiful and oh, so peaceful; with numerous little "romantic" garden seating areas on the grounds, and a large wraparound "gingerbread" porch with rockers from which to watch the sun setting over the mountains.

Rooms are decorated in a combination of antiques from a more "romantic Victorian era" along with modern amenities adding a touch of luxury -- like two person Jacuzzi tubs, and fireplaces! Fresh flowers, spa bath amenities, and Godiva chocolates fill the guest rooms along with luxurious linens, feather duvets and lots of fluffy pillows! Candles add ambiance to all Jacuzzi tubs. Special requests include rose petals scattered on the bed or by the Jacuzzi, as well as floating candles in Jacuzzi tubs.

The best part is yet to come -- the breakfast is prepared fresh each day with signature recipes that have appeared in numerous publications. This is a prelude to a spectacular afternoon tea, prepared and presented by pastry chef, and owner, Jacqueline Glasgow with abundant daily desserts and confections! Homemade and "hand-packed" picnic backpack lunches to guided waterfall hikes is a sample of a summer packages offered at the Beaufort House. Also, Chocolate dipped strawberries, champagne, chocolate fondue and cheese and dessert platters are available by special request. Jacqueline's hand painted and signed keepsake wine glasses, and toasting champagne flutes, are a 'most requested' item at the Inn.

The Beaufort House encompasses history, romance and elegance. Experience the ultimate in true "southern hospitality". Owner, Jacqueline Glasgow has had training at the Culinary Institute of America in New York and has a background in Business, Design & Art -- currently teaching Art Classes (in her 'off time') at a local school, along with sitting on the Arts Council Committee. The Beaufort House has a small gift room with Jacqueline's pottery, hand-painted champagne flutes, luxurious hand-knit items and candles.

The home was once occupied by actor Charleton Heston and wife Lydia, and is listed on the "National Register of Historic Places". It has been featured in Southern Living, National Geographic "Traveler" and Vegetarian Times as well as having the grounds and gardens photographed for the cover of a TIME/LIFE published book on backyard gardening. The Beaufort House has captivated many photographers scouting for advertising campaigns, political campaigns and CD covers for photo shoots both inside the Inn and on the grounds.

The Beaufort House accommodates AAA, AARP government and corporate travelers at seasonal "special rates" and offers midweek specials and getaway packages.
