Halle House Bed and Breakfast

Halle House Bed and Breakfast is an intimate inn ideally situated in the Foothills of the Great Smokey Mountains. Built in 1920, our brick Arts & Crafts style home offers our guests a warm, relaxing atmosphere. Guests are encouraged to make themselves at home from the moment they arrive. Our 3.5 acres of landscaped grounds offers privacy to all our guests.

The aroma of home baked cookies greets each guest when they arrive. They are encouraged to enjoy these treats, along with a refreshing glass of iced tea or cup of freshly brewed coffee in any of our common areas. The porch is wonderfully relaxing during the warmer months and offers a lovely view of the grounds.

Our living room is large and comfortably furnished. Guests can enjoy watching a DVD movie from our private collection or may rent from a local video store. Add a cozy fire in the fireplace and you have the perfect setting for a relaxing evening. Snacks are always available.

A scrumptious, full breakfast is served daily in our dining room. Our selections includes pancakes, French toast made with homemade breads, breakfast casseroles and quiche, among others. The choice is always at the whim of the cook! We strive to accommodate any special dietary needs and time restrictions. No guest is ever hurried and we pride ourselves on being flexible with our serving times.

Each of our three guestrooms is uniquely decorated and has a private, in-room bath. We are completely air-conditioned and each guestroom is also equipped with a ceiling fan. The Garden Room is cozy and inviting, decorated in warm colors and a garden theme. Southern Traditions is reminiscent of bygone days, with oak furnishings and lace curtains. Its bath includes a tub for relaxing bubble baths! The Rose Room is our largest and most elegant room, with a four-poster bed and exquisite bedding. All rooms have queen -size beds with pillow top mattresses that allow you to enjoy a perfect nights sleep. Guests have all raved over the comfort of our beds!

We are pleased to offer our business travelers a complete Business Center. This is a private room equipped with a PC, Internet access, printer, fax, scanner, copier and telephone. The PC has Microsoft Office products for all your business needs. This area also offers a quiet place to relax and read should other areas of the house be in use.

Just minutes from Hickory, the Furniture Capital of the World, we offer the ideal location for the furniture buyer, business traveler or vacationer to this unique area. Many attractions lie within driving distance of our inn and there is never a shortage of activities to enjoy. Dining is a unique experience with many wonderful, local restaurants. There are programs throughout the year at the Catawba County Council for the Arts and at the J.E. Broyhill Civic Center.

A short drive will bring you to Blowing Rock, a quaint town with streets lined with shops and eateries. There is also an Outlet Mall located in Blowing Rock. Entrance to the Blue Ridge parkway can be gained just north of the town and you can experience some of the most spectacular scenery in the Southeast.

Other attractions located within approximately one hour of our inn: Charlotte, Asheville, Biltmore Estate, Grandfather Mountain, and Appalachia State University (Boone). Halle House is also available for small business functions, intimate weddings, bridal showers and luncheons and other social gatherings. Please call for information and details.
