Hike from your door through woodland paths or take a llama trek to a hidden Nantahala Forest waterfall. A sparkling mountain stream meanders from out of the forest through our property and it's rumored that gold may be found - we'll loan you gold pans and wish you luck! We'll also give you directions to nearby gem mines where you can look for rubies and sapphires.

Hike from your front door into the National Forest, we'll direct you to our own secret "Hidden Falls, to the top of our mountain for a view from "Hawkesnest" that is wonderful. Fishing -- some of the best trout streams in the Southeast are nearby. We can recommend guides or point you in the right direction. Gem Mines -- one Hawkesdene guest found an 825 carat sapphire in 1995!
