The house is on the National Register of Historic Places. The exterior construction is pebbledash. It has four fireplaces; (2 gas fireplaces) a formal dining room; two original pocket doors; and an accordion door in the entrance hall. In the parlor is an original watercolor of Ruth Boylan, as a child, painted by the famous pianist Liberace. Jim Boylan, an award winning professional fine art sculptor, has a few of his original works on display and for sale. The upstairs living room has cable TV with a VCR, and movies. Books and magazines for your pleasure. The house is adorned with crystal chandeliers, pictures, mirrors, some period furniture, and many antiques, plus collections of tea cups, tea pots, steins, thimbles, bells and figurines. Refurbishing a house of this nature is an on going task. In 1999 some extensive exterior work was completed. All is not perfect yet, but our dedicated service and relaxed atmosphere will add to your comfort. Our large dog Tar and numerous cats add extra charm. Thousand of guests have passed through our doors and have enjoyed storytelling time, the whistle of the train and the captivating view. All these add to a unique experience and a memorable time away from home. "All guests that come as Strangers leave as Friends." DISTINCTIVE FEATURES
