Region. You can explore scenic byways, shop nearby North Conway outlet

climb Mt. Washington, ski, hike, canoe or swim. Riverbend Inn's easily-accessible
location at the gateway to popular Mt. Washington Valley means that we're just
an hour from Portland, Maine and Portsmouth, New Hampshire, about two hours
from Boston and five from New York City. Come be indulged with luxurious lodging
accommodations, peace and privacy and delicious breakfasts by the Chocorua river.
The grounds of Riverbend Inn are perfect for wandering. Escape to our private
island or claim an Adirondack chair at the river's edge. Loose yourself in a
book or watch the mallard ducks paddle by. Swim or canoe in nearby Lake Chocorua,
where our guests enjoy access to the town of Tamworth's private beach by simply
showing a room key or a card from the inn.
With
mountains, forests, rivers and lakes, there is always something to see and do:
outdoor sports, leisurely scenic drives, or restorative walks. In winter, there's
skiing (Alpine and Nordic) and snowboarding at nearby major mountain resorts,
snowshoeing, snowmobiling, sledding, ice skating, and ice climbing. In spring,
summer and fall go hiking, biking, fishing, swimming, golf, horseback riding,
rock climbing, canoeing, kayaking, and sailing. There's white water rafting,
waterfalls to discover , and rock formations to find.
Cruise Lake Winnipesaukee on the 230 foot M/S Mt. Washington, take the Conway
Scenic Railway where you can enjoy fine food in an historic railway car, or
ascend the summit of Mount Washington on the oldest cog railroad in the world.
Or take a 
leisurely
walk through White Lake State Park, a National Natural Landmark with a stand
of huge pitch pines.
Explore the Covered Bridges of Mt. Washington Valley and Carroll County, and
drive through the White Mountains on the Kancamagus Highway. Our area is a shopper's
delight with over a hundred outlet stores in nearby North Conway (Timberland,
Polo Ralph Lauren, Banana Republic, Anne Taylor, Lenox, L.L. Bean, Orvis, The
Gap), lots of antique shops, galleries featuring works by local artists, farm
stands selling fresh produce and flowers, and front yards with signs for honey
and maple syrup. Everything you buy in New Hampshire is tax-free.
There are small, quirky museums to visit, acclaimed theater companies like The
Barnstormers and M&D Productions, antique auctions every week and dining choices

Rates vary depending on season and are for double occupancy
and include full breakfast, afternoon snacks, all beverages & gratuity-free
service. Some weekends and holidays may require minimum stays. Riverbend Inn
welcomes children 10 years of age and older. A deposit of one night's stay will
confirm a reservation and hold a room. If cancellation should be necessary,
we will refund the deposit if notice occurs at least 14 days prior to arrival.
If cancellation occurs within 14 days of arrival, we will refund the deposit
if the room can be resold. All refunds are subject to a $20 service charge per
room. Riverbend Inn cats, Homer and Virgil are adamant that the inn is exclusively
theirs, so we regret that we cannot accommodate your pets. No smoking inside,
however, guests may smoke outside on decks and grounds
