our hosts, Sandy, Vicki and Owen
Miller welcome you to a gracious Edwardian seaside inn with a tradition
of hospitality and comfort, one-half block from the beach in the heart
of the historic
district, with restaurants and tour sites within walking distance. Inside,
the large, spacious and airy rooms are complemented with museum quality
antiques, oak and chestnut woodwork and exceptional stained and beveled
glass. Our guest rooms have queen or king beds, private baths, mini
refrigerators, television, VCR's, air conditioning, ceiling fans, and
hair dryers. Sandy Miller is an excellent authority
on local history and the Victorian period and talks are available upon
request.
Built
around the turn of the century close to the beach, our inn was designed
to entertain
family and friends
and to invite sea breezes. The
open airy interior is enhanced
with three porches. The first floor porch, filled with wicker, has an
awning and is great for relaxing or people watching. Two special second
floor
guest rooms open privately to a large wraparound open porch
and the third floor
has a glorious sun porch with wonderful views of the sea.
When
the weather is frosty, guests can relax and dream in our double parlors,
one with a cozy fireplace. During a visit to Windward House,
you can recapture the romance and gentleness of a bygone era.
Christmas
in Cape May is a special time of houses trimmed with holiday finery
and gaily lit twinkling lights. Consider a visit to this historic town
and to Windward House during this delightful holiday season, and spend
a cozy afternoon by the parlor fireplace.
