Orinda Bed & Breakfast has been called "a
Bed and Breakfast paradise" by the Rocky Mountain
News. The Toronto Star says "Taos B&B;
Tops". Orinda is an updated
and enlarged adobe home sitting in a valley just below
town. It is surrounded by pastures and giant cottonwood
trees providing country privacy, yet only a 15 minute
walk to the famed Taos Plaza with its excellent restaurants,
galleries and museums. The blend of sweeping mountain
views and closeness to town is unequaled by any lodging
in the area.
Stay
at Orinda and you'll be shown to a room full of authentic
Taos touches. The rooms are quiet and cozy with kiva
fireplaces, private baths filled with Mexican tile,
traditional viga ceilings, and wonderful views. With
only five guest rooms, you'll never be lost in the shuffle
here. However, if its privacy you want, the thick adobe
walls ensure peace and quiet.
In
the main house, a full breakfast is served at a sky-lit
table in a gallery showing the talents of local artists
and early century Navajo rugs. The large living room
provides guests with a library and media center, a cozy
kiva fireplace nook, and Taos Mountain
framed in our immense picture windows.
In
the summer, relax in a hammock under cool cottonwood
and elm trees on the lawns. In winter, curl up in front
of the wood stove in the sunroom and swap ski stories.
After you've settled in, it's only a short walk into
Taos' historic Plaza and dinner at one of several renowned
restaurants. Check our menu scrapbook with guests comments,
to find the cuisine and atmosphere you prefer. Stroll
the Plaza's colorful shops and many unique galleries.
Taos still retains much of the charm of a Northern New
Mexico village from earlier in the century and is willing
to share this unique tricultural heritage with its visitors.
There are four museums all within a few blocks of us,
Taos Pueblo is a 5-minute drive and world-class Taos
Ski Valley is 18 miles to the north.
