Innkeepers Lenore and Vito Radelich have taken two of the original cottages of the former Osborn House, a boarding house complex built in 1876 which flourished to a capacity of 300 summer tourists in the early part of the century. These two structures have been restored and joined with a newly built section which painstakingly echoes the keyhole windows and stained glass, gingerbread trim and carefully painted woodwork of the originals. Albergo Allegria has been chosen as a registered historic site and holds the highest rating in Greene County with its 4 Diamond Award from AAA and 3 Star Rating from Mobil Travel Guide.

Antique furnishings enriched by period wallpapers and accessories continue the gracious Victorian decor within each guestroom. The cozy country inn atmosphere is accentuated by modern conveniences, and each room has its own full private bath, telephone, TV, VCR, with a choice of over 300 movies to choose from. Five Annex rooms called the "Carriage House Suites" are located a few feet behind the inn. These deluxe suites offer two person whirlpool tubs, gaslight fireplaces, king size beds, and large cathedral ceilings.

Common rooms are spacious and inviting. The main lounge boasts a large, cherry mantled fireplace and a warm crackling fire surrounded by overstuffed couches plumped with pillows.
