he Lakehouse welcomes guests with its unique combination of warm hospitality, grace, and subtle elegance. A private 22 acre estate, the Lakehouse is unquestionably the most enchanting lake front Bed & Breakfast in the Hudson River Valley. Luxurious and quaint furnishings form a wonderful backdrop enhanced by the richness of lake side leisure and an
environment of exquisite beauty.
Six distinctive guest quarters are nestled within three buildings. Some offer stunning lake views, others present tranquil views of the woods. Each is decorated with an eclectic mixture of antiques, comfortable furnishings, and custom made beds, and all are charmingly tasteful. All guest rooms contain private baths... most have jacuzzi tubs built for two, wood burning fireplaces, private decks, televisions and stereo, VCR's with tape libraries, CD-tape players, mini refrigerators, coffee service and robes. Guest rooms are both unpretentious and splendid, a place for dreams, private moments, and quiet times. All blend beautifully with the outdoors, creating an atmosphere at once personal and grand.
As
the day drifts by, some guests like to wonder the woods, others relax with
a book or a friends conversation. All delight in watching deer graze and play
on the lawn, just a few feet from their deck. Summer, spring and fall are dedicated
to guests who enjoy water sports. The Lakehouse's private seven acre lake is
a true bass fishing heaven. Rowboats that bob gently in the water at the covered
boat dock offer a relaxing time in an idyllic setting. Guests row out to their
own private island to sunbathe, relax, and renew, or they indulge in a refreshing
swim. Winter offers special delights. Under a pristine blanket of snow, the
woods and buildings take on an indescribable quiet and beauty. The
frozen lake
is breathtaking in winter's sparkling haze. Cross-country skiing is found nearby,
and downhill skiing can be enjoyed in the adjoining Catskills or in the neighboring
Berkshires. Inside the luxuriousness of the Lakehouse, winter is warm and friendly.
Stacks and stacks of firewood feed blazing fires and turn a winters day into
your private, cozy house party.
Although most guests find that the Lakehouse's own setting provides pleasures a plenty, the surrounding area contains a rich variety of diversions. Within a short drive guests enjoy the historic Hudson River mansions and local wineries, fabulous antiqueing in Hyde Park, berry and apple picking, 3 area golf courses, tennis, horseback riding, hiking, the Dutchess County Fairgrounds, the Rhinebeck Aerodrome, and quaint historic villages filled with fine restaurants and specialty shops. The Lakehouse is a unique private inn where you are free to enjoy a special time in splendid circumstances. It is an elegant hideaway, the very essence of subtle splendor. A gentle mix of luxury and whimsy amidst lake front beauty.
All of this is the Lakehouse...and you are most welcome to join us!
