The Rose and Thistle offers its guests a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Relax in an Adirondack chair or rocker on the wraparound porch, or enjoy a book or game in the front parlor. For the energetic, climb the backyard stairs to wander among the tall pines and tranquil brook. A full hearty country breakfast, including homemade cakes, breads or muffins is served at 8:30 each morning in the dining room.

We have 3 guest rooms: Desiree's Room has been decorated in a rose motif and lace with a queen size canopy bed. It has a private bath, ceiling fan, central air and cable TV. Nicki's Room is a sunshine filled room with a sleigh bed, ceiling fan, central air, cable TV and a private bath. Mary's Room boasts a pressed tin headboard with princess dresser. A ceiling fan, central air, cable TV and a private bath Rose and Thistlewith a claw foot tub provides an enchanting experience at this turn-of-the-century bed and breakfast. Down comforters available for those chilly nights.

Just a short mile from the Rose and Thistle B & B, the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum provides the quintessential experience for baseball fans. A visit to Doubleday Field, the batting range and the village's baseball shops and exhibits will complete the day. For the athletic-minded, a wide array of sporting facilities are available: golf courses, swimming, boating and fishing on glorious Otsego Lake; cross country skiing, tubing, skating and hiking at Glimmerglass State Park. The A.C. Clark Gymnasium, a state of theRose and Thistle art health spa complete with indoor pool, climbing wall, racquetball courts, indoor track and nautilus equipment.

More than just a village, Cooperstown is a state of mind where hospitality, graciousness and tranquility soothe the soul. Founded in 1786 by William Cooper and immortalized in the writings of his son, James Fenimore Cooper, Cooperstown is a quaint, historic village abounding in sites and attractions.

Nicknamed the Village of Museums, Cooperstown is indeed a paradise for history and art aficionados. The Farmer's Museum and Village Crossroads is an experience in 19th century country life, while the Fenimore House Museum exhibits a fine collection of American folk art. The Glimmerglass Opera House presents several operas each summer season. The local theater company offers two or three plays while the Cooperstown Concert Series provides outdoor musical entertainment weekly.
