Bed and Breakfast Inns of North Americahe Saratoga Farmstead is an historic bed & breakfast inn located in Saratoga Springs, New York, one of America's most beautiful and The Saratoga Farmsteadculturally rich small cities. This farm, built in the late 1700's, has had a long and interesting history. Now the farmhouse is a Bed & Breakfast, appealing to guests who wish for a quiet and peaceful home away from home, while enjoying all the activities that the busy city of Saratoga Springs and surrounding areas have to offer.

Located just 2 1/2 miles from the center of the City of Saratoga Springs, the farmstead seems like it is in an altogether different world. Its ten acres provide for rest and relaxation while its proximity to the Saratoga Race Course, Saratoga Performing Arts Center, Skidmore College, Saratoga Mineral Baths and Spa, state and national parks, great golf courses, world-class polo, various museums and galleries, wonderful restaurants and shops ensure something for everyone. Lake George and the Adirondack Mountains are just a short drive from the farmstead, as is Albany, the capital of New York State.

The Saratoga FarmsteadThe Saratoga Farmstead's innkeepers, Mariana DiToro and Rosemary Jensen, have many years of experience in hospitality and the culinary arts. Prior to acquiring the farmstead in January 2002, the two owned, restored and successfully operated a large inn and restaurant for more than 22 years. Purchasing the farmstead is the beginning of an exciting new endeavor: to be involved with the preservation of an historic property in one of the most naturally beautiful, architecturally significant and culturally rich areas in the country.

The original farmhouse has undergone a new phase of restoration, with the kitchen/sun room having become the center of this casual, country experience. In the kitchen, guests can sit and enjoy their first cup of coffee or tea in front of the fire while watching their breakfast being prepared. Dining tables all overlook the fields and gardens, a perfect spot to enjoy their morning's meal. Herbs, vegetables and edible flowers used for breakfast are harvested in season from the farm's organic gardens and flowers on the tables are from the farmstead's perennial beds. All baking is done on premises, locally roasted coffee is freshly ground each morning and all foods are prepared to order based on guests' individual dietary needs. Only the finest, freshest ingredients find their way into the farm's kitchen, where they are used to prepare memorable meals for the enjoyment of all.

The Saratoga FarmsteadGuest rooms have been refurbished and decorated individually for greater comfort and esthetic appeal. The bright, sunny guest rooms look out upon pastoral views. All have private bathrooms, ceiling fans, individually zoned heat and air conditioners, providing year-round comfort.

Entering the front parlor feels like stepping back in time. Comfortable antique furniture, sunlight from a graceful bay window, the warmth of a Victorian gas stove, wide pine floors and an antique pump organ are remnants of a bygone era . a broad selection of books, with subjects including area history, landscaping and gardening, art, architecture, dance, travel and fiction are waiting to be enjoyed, as are puzzles and board games. Complimentary beverages and snacks are available in the parlor throughout the day.

Wonderful walking trails have been cut through the pastures and gardens, allowing guests to enjoy the wild flowers and the many birds that the property attracts. The thriving vegetables, herbs and fruits of the gardens beckon as well, offering hints of the next days breakfast selections. The outdoors can also be enjoyed from several decks and porches as well as sitting areas and hammocks scattered throughout the grounds.

Peace and quiet, comfort and hospitality with a close proximity to all that Saratoga has to offer....these are the words that best describe our guests' experience at The Saratoga Farmstead.
