Bed and Breakfast Inns of North American historically prominent Bed & Breakfast in the heart of the Brandywine Valley offering exceptional accommodations. The Pennsbury Inn is situated on eight acres of sculptured grounds bordered by woodland trails, offering privacy for special events such as wedding receptions, anniversary dinners, bridal showers, corporate meetings and catered parties. We are located in Chadds Ford, Pennsylvania, only minutes from Delaware and the city of Philadelphia.

On acreage purchased from Wm. Penn's Commissioners in the 17th Century, Pennsbury Inn's original dwelling house, erected in 1714 of Brandywine Blue Granite rubble stone, was enlarged mid-century by a stone addition of surpassing proportions with the front facade clad in hand-molded Flemish Bond brick. A 19th Century clapboard extension housed both coachman quarters and beehive bake oven. A 20th Century addition contains a garden view dining area. The Inn proudly presents a blend of colonial heritage and country elegance. It is also listed in the National Register of Historic Places.

There are many things to do and see within the immediate vicinity of the inn (5-10 minutes drive) including the Brandywine River Museum (Wyeth art, Brandywine Nature walk, etc.), Winterthur (fine American antiques and gardens), and Baldwins Book Barn (rare and old books, maps and prints), as well as dozens of antique shops! The Amish farmlands, and their horse and buggy way of life, is within a 40 minute scenic drive. Approximately 35 minutes away, along the Main Line, you'll find the Barnes Foundation (a stunning collection of art). And for the sports enthusiast, we are located minutes from excellent horseback riding, canoeing and golf.

Of the many local restaurants, we highly recommend Pace One (varied menu, unique elegant atmosphere) Dilworthtown Inn (authentic colonial atmosphere with formal, attentive service), Buckley's Tavern (friendly pub-like atmosphere in colonial era restaurant and bar), and the Chadds Ford Inn (fine dining since 1736).

We look forward to hearing from you and welcome the opportunity to meet with you and show you the Inn.
