Bed and Breakfast Inns of North Americaedgwood Collection of Historic Inns has been offering bed and breakfast lodging since 1982. Carl and Dinie have renovated three 19th century homes on over two acres of landscaped grounds in New Hope's historic district. The Wedgwood, Umpleby and the Aaron Burr Houses each offer six guest rooms that are distinctive in style and decor. Each house has a parlor with fireplace where one can find good books, board games, menus from local restaurants, area information guides and friendly conversation. In addition, each house has a resident Innkeeper.

Steps from the village center, the large and finely appointed guest rooms combine the period charm of lofty windows, hardwood floors, brass ceiling fans, antique furnishings, original art, Wedgwood pottery and handmade quilts, with such modern essential, as private baths and air conditioning. Many have 2 person Jacuzzi tubs, private Victorian porches, oversized or four-poster canopy beds; our wood burning fireplace suites are ideal for special occasions. Extra touches in all rooms include fresh flowers, additional pillows, scented English soaps, and plush towels.

Your day at the Wedgwood begins with a breakfast of fresh-squeezed orange juice, yogurt, granola, fresh fruit salad, home-baked muffins, breads, pastries, hot croissants and just-made coffee and tea. Evenings wind down in conversation with other guests out in the gazebo or before the parlor fire, and conclude in the comfort of your room, savoring the mint left on your pillow with a tiny carafe of Carl's secret recipe almond liqueur.

Although only a minute from the bustling artists' colony, the Wedgwood offers a pastoral respite with gazebos and picnic tables shaded by century-old trees and brightened by colorful flowers which border the expansive lawns.

A river community, founded in 1681, New Hope is registered as a National Historic Site. You can absorb three centuries of architecture while leisurely exploring its art galleries, restaurants and numerous craft and antique shops. The inn's grounds were the site of a Revolutionary War encampment in December 1776, just prior to George Washington's famous crossing of the Delaware River.

Together Wedgwood Inns is large enough to hold business meetings and serve the business and relocation traveler, while individually each house offers its own private retreat for couples. Your innkeepers have been offering "Wedgwood Perfection" in lodging since 1982. They also teach aspiring innkeepers and lead "How-To" workshops. the 2nd edition of Carl's bestselling book, "How To Start & Run Your Own B&B Inn," is now available (1992, 2005). Your comfort, service and hospitality is our priority. A warm and friendly inn, we were voted "Inn of the Year" by readers of inn guidebooks in 1989.

Featured on CNN and the "Romantic Inns of America" TV series, the Wedgwood Inn is often called "a quintessential American inn". While gracing the cover of National Geographic Traveler magazine is an honor, we feel the true mark of our success since 1982 is the high percentage of repeat house guests and word-of-mouth referrals. We invite you to join us and experience our inn, New Hope, and the romance of a bygone era.
