n the heart of Newport's historic Yachting Village, the Captain Preston House is a charming Bed & Breakfast that has been authentically restored to its original 1861 charm. Boasting one of the most ideal locations in all of Newport, the Captain Preston House is situated just one block from the restaurants, bars and shops of lower Thames Street and the yachting harbor, two blocks from Bellevue Avenue and the Mansions and a ten minute walk to the Cliff Walk and beaches.

All four rooms of this intimate getaway are furnished with antiques and period pieces. We have four Queen rooms (triple room avaialble) named for the ships Captain James Preston sailed on so many years ago - Royal Sovereign, Colcester, Swan and Folkstone. We also have a Triple room - Folkstone (with a Queen and a twin bed). Each lovely bedroom has a private bath, cable, A/C and a wireless fast internet connection.

A sumptuous full breakfast is served each morning in our dining room. The Captain Preston House is within walking distance to all of Newport's area attractions, such as the mansions, the beach and the heart of downtown.
